Hello friends, my name is Ramprasad Mondal.In this blog you will know about the homoeopathic remedy Aconitum Napellus ,specially its mental symptoms, Trio of Restless and its comparison with other remedy.

Mental Symptoms.

1.Fear and Anxiety. (Due to nervous excitement)

a) Afraid to go out.

b) Afraid to go into crowd.

c) Afraid to cross the road.

d) Afraid to talk to persons.

e) Fear of death (he or she thinks that disease would be proved fatal or incurable)

f) Predicts the specific time of death.

g) Fear of death during pregnancy.

2.Restless:

a)       Patient is mentally so restless that he cannot stay in a one position or place, always move place to pace.

b)      Due to restlessness and anxiety even music cannot make them happy. So, they cry and become depressed.


Trio of restless.

In trio of restless the medicines are included like Aconite, Arsenic, Rhus Toxicoderdron.

1.       Aconitum Napellus.

Restlessness in aconite is seen generally in inflammatory fever. According to Hering-‘’heat with thirst, hard, full and frequent pulse, anxious, impatience, inappeasable, beside himself, tossing about agony’’ this restless s generally mental (intellectual) than physical. As aconite acts on cerebrospinal nervous system. So, all the sense organs are hyperactive and due to fear of death he is more restless.

 

2.      Arsenic Alba.

Arsenic has same restlessness as Aconite.  But, restlessness increases with increasing deterioration of health. He thinks his disease is incurable and will die soon so no need to take medicine. restless is more mental than physical.

 

3.      Rhus Toxicodendron.

Here restlessness is absolutely physical and that is of biting pain. In every acute disease like fever, gout, influenza patient feels an uneasiness or uncomfortable sensasion.so he always wants to move his legs and arms. He changes position to get relief from pain and uneasiness.

 

 

Comparison of Aconite among other Remedy.

 

Inflammatory Affection.

1.       Aconitum Napellus.

a)       Internal heat with dry, hot skin without sweat.

b)      Tosses about agony with great fear of death.

c)       Center of action is heart or cardiovascular system in this remedy.

d)      Fear of death without delirium.

2.      Belladonna.

a)       Superficial heat and sweat on covered part.

b)      Semi stupor, jerking and twitches in sleep.

c)       Center of action is head in this remedy.

d)      Fear of imaginary things with delirium.

 

                           Pain.

1.       Aconitum Napellus.

It is a great pain remedy. It has unbearable pai, patient tosses about agony.

‘’Can’t bear pain, not to be touched, not to be covered’’ the pain always attends with great restlessness, anxiety and fearfulness. Pain often aggravates in evening and night. Pain is like tearing, cutting and drive the patient to desperation.

2.      Chamomila.

Chamomila patient is very sensitive both mentally and physically. So, slight pain makes the patient cry and exclaim i.e. labor , toothache, neuralgia, rheumatism. Pain is so sensitive and numbness, drive the patients out of bed at night and compel him to walk about.

 

3.      Coffee Cruda.

This remedy has similar nervous and sensitive pain like Chamomila. Pains are felt intensely: seem almost insupportable, driving patient to despair: tossing about anguish.


 

Modality:

Aggravation-evening and night, pains are insupportable, in a worm room, when rising from bed, laying on affected side.

Amelioration- in open air.

Relation:

Complementary- to coffea in fever, sleeplessness, intolerance of pain, to Arnica in traumatism, to Sulphur in all cases. Rarely indicated in fevers which bring out eruptions.

Aconite is the acute in Sulphur, and both preceded and follow it in acute inflammatory condition.

Common Name- Monkshood, Wolfsbane, Helmet flower, Fariars Cap.

Source- Vegetable Kingdom.

Prover- Hahnemann.

Discovery/invention-

First discovered by Rev. Edward Whitehead of Christchurch College, Oxford in 1819. It is a deadly poisonous and perineal plant. It’s roots, flower and leaves are used for medicinal purpose.

GEOGRAPHICAL Distribution — France, Sweden, Switzer- land, Austria, Carniola, and other parts of Europe.


Basic Idea:

This medicine is specially used for both mental and physical alteration of health.

Mental:

In mental state we see the patients are full of fear and restless, frightful. Fear of death encompasses him or her. He feels afraid to go out, into crowd and cross the road, so always stay at home.

Physical:

 First stage of injury and inflammatory fever. This medicine is used to palliate all the acute manifestation of all diseases. Persons are affected by dry cold north wind. It is useable for first stage of cold, influenza and fever, but should match symptoms.

Constitution:

Physical makeup.

 The drug is suited to young persons, especially girls of a full, plethoric habit who leads a sedentary life. Persons easily affected by atmospheric changes, dark hair and eyes, rigid muscular fiber.

Temperament- Sanguine Temperament.

H-C-R- Not specific but affected by cold wind, extreme hot and cold weather.

Miasm- Psora in the background.

Sphere of action:

Aconite is a deadly poison. It has a special action on cerebrospinal – nervous system. Other action is on blood, brain, mucus membrane and vascular system.
